Our Summer Trip to the Great Smoky Mountains and visiting Cades Cove where we got to see the local wildlife (bears, elk, deer, turkey) in their natural setting against the backdrop of the mountains.

If you were not in Accounting, what profession would you most enjoy being in? Why?

I would be a professional traveler to explore places I haven’t been.

What was one of your first jobs? How did it impact you?

Cashier at a grocery store and I advanced to assistant head cashier. I loved the pace and variety of duties, talking to customers, overseeing the shifts, and counting the tills and the safe. It was a fun job for a teen, carried a good amount of responsibility and I acquired the skill of being really fast at using a ten key adding machine (which have now become obsolete in our profession)!

What things do you enjoy doing outside the office?

Spending time with family, traveling, E-biking, boating, trying new restaurants – especially locally owned, exploring places I’ve never been (especially in Florida), finding new dishes to cook, and my latest endeavor – an attempt at pickleball.
